What do our students and parents think?
My son is 4 years old and has been in the Little Ninja program with Karate USA Windermere for almost 6 months now. I have to say, enrolling him at Karate USA has been one of the best decisions we have ever made. My son was not even 4 when he enrolled and a little on the hyper side, he had MAJOR issues with focus and following any sort of instruction, not to mention he was a bit of a “tech boy” and preferred to spend most of his free time on the computer. Since enrolling at Karate USA we have seen major improvement in his ability to focus and follow direction as well as an amazing improvement in motor skills and balance. Geary seems to be pretty patient and understanding with the younger kids while also challenging them and pushing them to try hard and do their best. There’s also a good effort put in for individual instruction as needed. Mr. Geary incorporates a no nonsense, yet still fun, atmosphere at the studio that I think most kids could benefit from. My experience with Karate USA has been a wonderful one. It offers a variety of programs for kids of all ages as well as for adults. The place is new and clean. My son is only 3.5 but he really likes the program; the instructors are all very good with kids.
My 9-yr old son started taking classes at the John’s Creek location about 3 months ago and he LOVES it. They have a very kid friendly atmosphere with positive reinforcement (they give tape stripes on their belts between each belt color advancement). Mr. Lee is great with kids and are consistently at several classes that my son attends each week. Overall, a great place to learn karate. ~ Erika S.
My son has been a student at Karate USA for 3 months now, and we’ve both enjoyed every moment of it. We’ve come to realize that the training is not just about learning self-defense and combat techniques, but it promotes physical, spiritual, and psychological values. I’m particularly impressed with the concept of the Real Karate Kids project which promotes leadership, teamwork, and good citizenship through community-focused activities. The instructors are professional and great with kids – enforcing discipline without intimidation. I’ve researched many martial arts programs in the area, and I’d have to say Karate USA provides the best value in terms of excellent training, wonderful staff, flexible schedules, and price.
Love this school, no long term contracts, very affordable rates, great staff that love the kids and use just the right amount of strictness mixed with humor to teach them valuable lessons about responsibility, perseverance, discipline, and confidence!
We have been very impressed with the teaching at Karate USA. Our daughter loves the classes. Also, the email communication and websites are excellent!
I have 2 girls in the Karate USA program at Windermere. It is fantastic, my girls love to go! They have more confidence now. They participated in a tournament recently and I would never have expected them to want to do something like that. It has really been wonderful for them!
My brother and I love Karate USA. Classes are so much fun and we love to spar. Mr. Geary teaches us grappling, boxing, sparring, and other fun stuff. Drill days are super fun because you get to have races with the other kids. You should join us for some fun!!!
My son and daughter not only attend classes at Karate USA, but are also competing on the Competition Team. They were hooked from the start, often attending up to four times per week. We LOVE Karate-USA! We have been in the program for 8 months and it has been fantastic for our 4 year old. Plus the fact of no long term contracts, We think this is the best value and the BEST instructors!!
We chose Karate because it is the sport that best develops gross motor coordination and mid-line crossing which are essential for children. We chose Karate USA because they are so involved in the area schools and giving back to the community. We like their ethos and the values which they stand for and teach (courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit). My children have totally different personalities and had opposite needs going into the classes – both thoroughly enjoy their classes and have benefitted immensely from them. My daughter (who is not at all athletic) initially found it difficult, but with the patience and understanding of the instructors has found that perseverance and practice pay off. Her co-ordination has improved and so has her self-confidence. She … the sport that best develops gross motor coordination and mid-line crossing which are essential for children. She is now more willing to persist at new and difficult things in other areas and at school. The instructors are great with the children and patient with the parents, so much so that I got up the courage to join the kickboxing bootcamp and am becoming fitter every week. I absolutely recommend Karate USA
What we love about Taekwondo is the discipline and focus. My son started 1 1/2 years ago and we have seen an improvement in his focus and behavior, especially at school. The five tenents teach and encourage positive attitude and respectful behavior. My daughter has now joined and is dedicated and more even more focused. The program itself improves balance, eye hand coordination, strength and agility which can transfer over into all other aspects of life. The instructors who have been taught by Mr. Bartow as young children and who are now teaching at the studio have poise and maturity beyond their years, which brings us excitement and hope that our children will continue to grow under their instruction. ~ Mrs. Colavito
My almost 6 year old daughter JUST LOVES her classes at Karate USA!! The instructors are amazing and made my otherwise shy daughter feel right at home and very comfortable from day one. We love how the program works and the Black belt Attitude Worksheet has been brining out the best behavior in my child since she joined. I myself joined the womens kick-boxing classes at the Johns Creek location several months ago and feel my fittest in years. I would recommend both the martial arts and the kick-boxing classes to anyone in a heartbeat!
My daughter has been learning for the last 2 years and she loves it. Not only has she become more active but has also gained confidence. All the credit goes to Karate USA for their excellent instruction and detailed observation of each student. The teachers are very professional and dedicated. I am very impressed with their disciplinary approach which teaches skills so important in life. They go over each step many times till a student masters it. They have many activities to encourage the kids. I loved their Leadership project which encourages kids to organize community projects. Mr. Lee, Mr. Bartow are wonderful mentors and I recommend this place to everyone when ever I get a chance. Go for it, you’ll love it!!
Evan has been taking karate for almost two years. He began at the age of 5 in the little ninja program and has moved up to regular taekwondo. Karate has helped in developing his coordination, body strength, and attention. Karate and each new level has also made goal setting an important part of learning. We have been able to apply goal setting to other areas as well, like school. The most satisfying aspect has been that Evan looks forward to going to karate each and every chance he gets and he is developing a love for the sport that he can participate in for years to come. I credit the school and the instructors for their patience, discipline, praise, and encouragement that they offer each student. I highly recommend this as a parent, and my child recommends it as a student
Both of my children have been a part of Karate USA for over a year now. They still LOVE it and look forward to going twice a week. It is so refreshing to find strong and positive male role-models working with young kids when children are typically surrounded with mostly female school teachers.
